Tom was born on April 16, 1979 in Cincinnati. His mother Rosario Segura is from Peru and his late father, Thomas Nadeau Segura (1947 – 2021) was American with Spanish, Cajun and French-Canadian ancestry.
Tom, even though raised and schooled in the U.S. also grew up speaking Spanish and spent his summers in Lima, Peru.
He graduated from Saint Edward’s School in Vero Beach, Florida and college from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.
He had a life threatening issue at age 19, when he overdosed on GHB and fell into a short coma.
The beginning of his career
Tom started his stand up career after graduating University, he mentioned on one of his Podcast Episodes, that in the first years of his comedy career he was doing stand up in the evenings meanwhile he was working during the day in different jobs.
He also did an internship at Kopelson Entertainment and afterwards he had his first paid job in the industry as a logger, he was in charge of producing transcripts of reality shows, such as Extreme Makeover and My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss.
